Shout out to The Pitch!

Despite wasting an hour of my life among the dregs of humanity at the local DMV, the day was saved when I received a happy e-mail from the managing editor of The Pitch requesting to include my Chiefs rant in the sports blog "Small-Market Scribblings."

Ohhhhh yeah. I'm bringin' ear muffs back.

And cheers to you, Eric! Here's to bumping into you at McDonald's Double Cheeseburger Arrowhead Stadium!

AY -- He claims he's the bane of my existence, and, well, he's kind of right. I met this clown while working at The Star, and I haven't been able to get rid of him. He's a neatfreak and an art director at VML, supposedly The Greatest Place To Work On Earth Or Anywhere. And, well, he's kinda like the older brother I never had. Just don't tell him -- his head is big enough already.
D. -- Although we no longer work together, a shared love of fashion, magazines, make-up and quality design have created a permanent bond. Until our reunion at our yet-to-be-formed media empire, we singlehandedly boost KC's economy during our infamous 'Shopocalypse' sprees.
J. -- Former roommate, heterosexual life partner and oldest friend (18 years!) We've laughed, cried, stalked celebrities and made intercontinental phone calls after one-too-many margaritas.
L. -- Gone are the crazy days when we shared an office at The Star, but the fabulous Miz Baker is still near and dear to my heart! You'll find her reporting and anchoring for KSNT in Topeka. We still indulge in infamously long lunches as often as possible -- good things never change!
R. -- One of KC's most talented comic artists and the love of my life. We met thanks to the power of the Internet, and I couldn't ask for a better support system, fellow Indian food fanatic and Scrabble partner. And as of October 3, 2008, R. and I are engaged! I'm looking forward to wedding planning and becoming an honest woman in the fall of 2010.
